Berne Evangelical Church's leadership is governed by individual committees. The chairperson from each of these committees from the Church Council.
Here are the Committees and a brief description of the responsibilities of each committee:
The Deacons are to serve closely with the Senior Pastor in overseeing the spiritual welfare of the church.

Member at Large
The Council Member-At-Large is represent the needs and concerns of the congregation for anything that is not overseen by another committee.
The C.E. Committee is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Christian Education in the church. These duties include, but are not limited to, the ordering, evaluation and distributing of educational materials. They are to make sure that each class (both children and adult classes) is staffed with qualified teachers. They are responsible for the Teacher Appreciation Banquet (once a year).

Miracle Camp Scholarships (Miracle Camp offers camps for children and youth in winter and summer)
The General Treasurer shall disburse all moneys pertaining to the local church and Sunday school. They shall keep an account at a local bank in the name of the congregation. They shall keep a correct record of all moneys to be disbursed, giving a monthly report to the council and the congregation and a complete report annually.
The Church Secretary shall keep a correct record of all proceedings of the business of the Church Council and General Board. They shall be responsible for the safekeeping of all minutes, papers, and records. They shall make a written annual report to the Church and perform other duties that may be assigned to them by the Church Council.
The Church Chair shall preside at all business meetings of the Church, General Board, and Church Council. They are responsible to see that the decisions of the Council, General Board and the congregation are implemented.
The Trustees shall have supervision of the material affairs of the congregation, keeping the church's property in good repair and properly insured. This includes purchasing necessary equipment and repairs for the church.

The Missions Committee is responsible for stimulating missions interest in our church. They shall promote missions in a variety of ways such as mission spotlights, mission conferences and guest missionaries. They shall be responsible to set missions policy and vision. They shall make recommendation to the Church Council for the annual missions budget.
*Since Steve Musser is the Church Chair, he cannot represent the Missions Committee at Council. Therefore Rod Meyer represents the Missions Committee on the Council.
This committee is the administrator of the worship teams and worship music, as well as special services that take place at the church.

The Congregational Ministries Committee is responsible for special events and activities for our congregation.

The Ushers are to assist the people in finding suitable seats, welcome visitors, and provide for the comfort and well-being of all present at our services, to receive offerings, and to assist the Senior Pastor whenever required.
